This artistic “Happiness by Hama” collection was inspired from the fruit of cocoa; as an enriching source of superb feelings with its fabulous gradients of colors, shapes, aromatic smell, delicious taste, gorgeous textures (powder and liquid) and unique down-facing flower. Hama commented on the name highlighting: “Cocoa has always been a great symbol of happiness and positive vibes to humans around the world, so for me it’s a sign that triggers happiness in our lives”.
Hama has launched this collection as part of the Dubai Modest Fashion Week 2019 on the special occasions of the International Women’s Day and International Day of Happiness as she believes that each and every woman deserves to be happy, empowered and beautiful inside out, regardless of her never-ending challenges and struggles. Hama expressed that in her own words: “I believe that each dress is like a cocoa pod that encapsulates many great feelings of women, those feeling are similar to the seeds inside the pod; we take them outside to spread happiness in many forms, it could be a chocolate bar, cup of hot chocolate, or maybe a chocolate cake!” She added: “This resembles how woman is not only a source of happiness and positive energy to her own self, but also to the whole society around her!”
Hama worked hand in hand with a team of skillful tailors, talented handicraftsmen and hardworking women in refugee camps and rural areas in Jordan to bring this collection to life. She travelled to İstanbul, Madrid and Dubai to hand-pick the best textiles and fabrics on her mission give ladies who wears them elegance, uniqueness, comfort and happiness!
Franka Soeria, the co-founder of the Modest Fashion Week has shared her feedback on the collection: “We’ve all waited for Hama’s show impatiently as it was the last one on the first day! She added: “I can proudly say that among the fashion show I attended or organized around the world, Hama designed something very special, chic and modest at the same time, which is major challenge for designers in this space.. Brilliant!”
The World-class jewelry designer Amer Atta has collaborated in designing custom-made headpieces that added great synergy to this artistic collection.
In order to mix professional expertise, talent and international best practices, Hama has joined Burgo School of Fashion in Milan in 2016.
